About SED

SED Swimming is a competence-based framework for swimming education and development.

It connects learning science, coaching practice and water safety to help educators understand not only what to teach, but also how and why learning happens.

Why SED exists

Swimming education is often built around exercises, techniques and predefined progressions. But learners do not always progress in the same way or at the same speed.

SED starts from a different question: Why is a learner having difficulty with a particular task?

By understanding the causes behind learning difficulties, educators can select more appropriate methods, adapt the learning environment and support each learner more effectively.
